Apple Pie Sundaes


For Cinnamon Tortilla Chips:
1 tablespoon Granulated Sugar
1/2  teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
4  8-inch Flour Tortillas
1 tablespoon Butter, melted

For Apple Pie Apples:
2 medium Apples, peeled, cored, and sliced (about ¾-inch thick slices)
1/4 cup packed light Brown Sugar
1/2  teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon Coarse Salt
1 tablespoon Butter


For Cinnamon Tortilla Chips:
Hat the oven to 375 then combine sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.

Brush tortillas with melted butter. Lightly sprinkle with cinnamon mixture

Cut each into 8 wedges and arrange in single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Bake for about 10 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.  Let cool on sheet before eating.

Store extra ‘chips’ in an airtight container for up to 1 week

For Apple Pie Apples

Stir together the apple slices and brown sugar in a medium skillet over medium-low heat.

Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until apples are tender then add cinnamon, salt, and butter, and stir gently until butter melts.  Serve hot or cold.

Vanilla ice cream for serving

To assemble:
Place one scoop of vanilla ice cream into each of 4 dessert dishes

Spoon some warm apples onto each, dividing evenly.

Top with a few crispy tortilla triangles
